Intro

Hello, My name is Ben, I am a 3rd year Game Development:Programming Student Currently Studying at Falmouth University in Cornwall, England. My main profession whilst studying at falmouth is programming with more of an output towards enviroment programming such as doors,pickup systems and interactble objects.

My Intrests Include Mountain Biking and Video Games. One of my Favorite games is "Warframe" which is a action role-playing third-person shooter

I was Part of the RAFAC (Royal air force air cadets) for 3 yrs, Whislt in the cadet corp i gained my cyber awarness/radio Specialist badge along with My blue flying wings, Leading cadet qualification and first aid training. During this time is also gained the Rank of Corporal which meant i had to over see the new cadets training and help them settle into the cadet corp.

My main goal for the future is to be hired by the game devlopment company 'Digital extremes' as they currently make my favorite game as mentioned before and during my time following this game i have seen the enviroment that each team member works in and it seems relaxed but at the same time serious as they can also have a laugh about the devlopment proccess as seen by the many dev streams they do on twitch.

Whilst my time working at both Sainsburys and whilst attending the RAFAC i have learnt many valuable skills such as being able to converse with peers in a well thought out manner and also be able to diffuse situations that require it. I also learnt how to work within a team and make sure that i know my job role and how to then carry out that role in a timely manner

Then as I settled into University life. I further learnt how to work within a team within the asoects of game development. This has helped me immensely as I know the bounds of what i can and cant do. This helped me pickup tasks that i know i can achieve within the timeline and also be able to tell team members which part of the sprints i would like to be assigned. Whilst at university i have also learnt about Version control tools such as Fork and github desktop. I have also learnt to stick to sprint timelines and being able to pickup tasks that i can achieve during that time frame.

For this Project I mainly worked on the lighting such as some of the menu items. I also helped other programmers and designers to trouble shoot issues by either giving them a new eye to look at their code or giving inspiration on how they can possible do it another way.

Solo Dungeons - Itch.io Page
On this project I worked on many differant aspects of the One of the biggest aspects that i helped with was making entire Main Menu and the subsequant settings menu. I also helped build out some of the levels such as the tutorial scene. However on this project i was mainly more of a designer by helping with how the game should look and how everything should function whilst also most of the documentation and making sure the team was working togethor properly.

PacMan Recreation - Github
With this project by myself with some help from some free assets i was able to recreate the entire pacman game from scratch i achieved what i was aiming for. I then started to work on implementing Ai with reinforcment learning so that i could hopefully make the entire game run by itself. I would have also then gone back and updated the ghost Ai with the same type of Ai but still having their normal behaviours. The final aim would be to see how far i could push the reinforcent learning and see wether Pacman or the ghosts came out on top.
